Simon Gorringe

Simon Gorringe

Simon has a degree in Chemical Engineering from UMIST.  He began his career in the petrochemical industry, moving into cryogenics and finally into the oil & gas industry in the late 80's.  Initially he worked for Kerr-McGee on the Gryphon field and then moved to Conoco where he spent most of the 90's as a development engineer on Conoco's UKCS developments before moving to BHPBilliton.  Whilst there he developed a reputation for unlocking marginal fields by developing the Keith Field, an asset that was deemed to be uneconomic until he and his fellow Corsair Director Trevor Ridley found a commercial and technical solution.  In 2000 he left BHPBilliton to establish a consultancy providing development management support to new entrants to the UKCS.  He was appointed Managing Director of Corsair in May 2003 and has over 25 years in the petrochemical, cryogenics and oil & gas industry.
